Barrick Adopts EQuIS for Environmental Data Management

October 16 – EarthSoft today announced it has been awarded a contract from Barrick Gold Corporation to implement EQuIS software at all Barrick mines worldwide.

The Barrick contract consists of EQuIS software in SQL Server, an unlimited Distribution License of the EQuIS Data Processor (EDP) for Barrick’s environmental labs, and an unlimited use license of the web-based Enterprise EDP. In addition to these software licenses, significant training and consulting services will be provided to Barrick’s global operations.

This contract represents a milestone for EarthSoft, marking the 500th license of EQuIS Professional, the most widely used groundwater decision support system in the world. In response to the needs of Barrick’s staff in South America and the Dominican Republic, EQuIS is now available in Spanish. In cooperation with Golder Associates, EQuIS training was recently conducted in Spanish in Lima, Peru and La Serena, Chile.

“Barrick is pleased to work with EarthSoft and will apply the EQuIS system to manage groundwater, meteorological and other environmental data,” said Ramana Kolluri, Manager of Environmental Health and Safety Information Systems at Barrick. “We are now deploying EQuIS globally at our operations in order to better meet our reporting needs.”
