CEO Mitch Beard to Speak at ESRI China User Conference
October 3, 2009
October 3, 2009 – EarthSoft announced today that CEO Mitch Beard will speak at the Eighth ESRI User Conference in Beijing, taking place October 20-22 in Beijing. EarthSoft will present EQuIS interfaces with ArcMap, ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, and 3D Analyst. The conference web site is www.esrichina-bj.cn.
EQuIS is a GIS-driven decision support system including a relational database schema in SQL Server or Oracle for all manner of water, air, geotechnical, and other analytical specific scientific data. Most of EarthSoft’s work over its 15-year business history has been in managing data for discharge water, limnology, sediments, drinking water, groundwater, oceanography, hydrology, and subsurface geology, primarily geotechnical. In several niches, such as groundwater, sediment, limnology, and subsurface data, EQuIS is the most widely used data management software in the world.
EQuIS manages GIS, geology, and chemistry data, ensuring data quality with electronic checking tools. EQuIS data checkers ensure electronic data deliverable packages (EDDs) are both complete and correct, allowing data managers to immediately reject bad or incomplete data packages from the field or lab. The result is a much better data warehouse, resulting in much better analyses and decisions and preventing faulty decisions. EQuIS web parts provide automation of the checking and loading workflow for large organizations that need faster and more accurate transactions.
EQuIS data warehouses can be encapsulated with ArcGIS, making the data highly usable. EarthSoft has successfully trained many geologists, hydrologists, chemists, and project managers to use EQuIS and ArcGIS to view, report, graph, model, contour, and generate other data analyses. Several case studies and technical articles about EQuIS for ArcGIS are on the www.EarthSoft.com, with specific information ArcGIS – including animations, images, papers, brochures, and FAQs – available from the EQuIS for ArcGIS resource page.
EQuIS for ArcGIS integrates the leading environmental software packages for specialized tasks. (A data sheet is available.) For example, contours created using EQuIS and Surfer are returned into ArcGIS, where they can be used in further analyses with output from other non-GIS applications, such as EnviroInsite for 2D graphics and EVS for 3D and 4D visualizations.
EarthSoft’s EQuIS is the most widely used environmental data management system in the world. For more information, visit www.earthsoft.com, or write to info@earthsoft.com.
