EarthSoft and C Tech Announce New EQuIS Interfaces to EVS and EnterVol

May 19, 2011

EarthSoft has released new versions of the EQuIS interfaces with EVS and support for the new EnterVol software from C Tech Development Corp. As an ArcGIS extension, EnterVol is easily run from within EQuIS for ArcGIS for advanced data analysis and decision support. This industry-leading product integration provides an expert system so environmental engineers spend their time analyzing data and answering what-if questions instead of endlessly manipulating different file formats required by various software packages.

Streamline your 3D visualization and analyses using EarthSoft and C Tech software. EQuIS Professional or EQuIS for ArcGIS export the following geology and chemistry files used by C Tech’s EVS and MVS software (EVS):

  • Pre-Geology (*.PGF), geology (*.geo) & geology multi-file (*.gmf) files.
  • 3D Chemistry (*.csv)
  • 3D Groundwater Chemistry (*.gwc)
  • Groundwater Chemistry Time (*.gwt)
  • Soil Chemistry Time (*.sct)

C Tech’s Environmental Visualization System (EVS) and Mining Visualization System (MVS) software and EnterVol for ArcGIS are the worldwide standard for 3D Volumetric Modeling of Earth Science data. C Tech unites state-of-the art analysis and visualization tools into extremely powerful software systems developed to meet the needs of geologists, geochemists, environmental or mining engineers, oceanographers, archaeologists and modelers. C Tech provides true 3D volumetric modeling, analysis and visualization to help you unlock the mysteries and discover the trends in your geophysical data in any environment (e.g. soil, groundwater, surface water, air, etc.). C Tech’s software creates 3D volumetric models based on geologic and/or Earth Science analyte data using advanced gridding techniques and geostatistical analysis driven by a user friendly expert system. C Tech offers a myriad of subsetting and visualization tools (e.g. plumes, slices, cuts, cross-sections, etc.) to investigate your data.

EQuIS for ArcGIS interfaces with EVS in advanced ways. EVS-PRO and MVS can transform EQuIS data into animations and even 3D physical models. EVS plumes, slices, cuts and cross-sections can be exported to CAD or GIS. For organizations focused on ArcGIS desktop, C Tech’s EnterVol offers the fundamental 3D volumetric modeling power of EVS in a true ArcGIS extension. Go directly from your complex geologic and Earth Science data resident in EQuIS to plumes, slices cuts, cross-sections and volumetric and mass computations directly from ArcScene (ArcGIS 3D Analyst) or ArcMap. The 3D Preview Window for ArcMap that is included with EQuIS for ArcGIS allows you to see these EnterVol layers in 3D directly within ArcMap.

EarthSoft Announces 2nd Large Marcellus Shale Gas Exploration Client

March 28, 2011

14 March 2011 – EarthSoft announced today that a second large Marcellus Shale natural gas extraction client will manage their environmental, geological, and geospatial data with EQuIS. Following an earlier announcement of a sale to Chesapeake Energy, EarthSoft announced a second major client last week, this time with a hosted EQuIS Online configuration. Both clients purchased EQuIS Enterprise for workflow automation of data collection and reporting.

EarthSoft’s EQuIS software systems are filling the need to automate the fast paced and diverse field activity workflow processes Marcellus Shale industrials are faced with. Impact on the local environment and water management need to be assessed and managed on a near real-time basis. Field activities, chemical analysis, and other project tasks can be managed by rolling data up into one centralized EQuIS data management system, allowing the industrial client and their agents the ability to automate, streamline, and manage this workflow in an efficient, timely, and cost effective way.

With the EQuIS On-line cloud computing product, the start-up costs are minimal because EarthSoft servers complete the setup in the cloud, making startup easy and fast. Collaborative multi-user systems populated with data from multiple labs and consultants for industrial end users are easily deployed with EQuIS adaptable and scalable data management systems.

Additionally, EQuIS Data Gathering Engine (EDGE) software is being used by Marcellus consultants. EDGE will be customized for use by Marcellus Shale natural gas clients. EDGE is a revolutionary new tool for field data capture and collection. EDGE allows for data to be checked for correctness and completeness while the staff are still in the field. EDGE produces electronic chain- of-custody forms and other documentation required for environmental sampling.

EarthSoft’s EQuIS is used by many clients in the Marcellus Shale territory, including US EPA Regions 2 & 3, West Virginia DEP, New York State DEC, and many laboratories, consultants, and industry operating in the area.

EarthSoft Announces a Vapor Intrusion EDD Format and Schema Additions

August 2, 2010

EarthSoft announced today a new Vapor Intrusion module for EQuIS, consisting of a Vapor Intrusion (VI) EDD, schema additions and VI reports.

The VI EDD was developed under the guidance of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This EDD was designed by several state staff and consultants. The VI EDD is part of NYSDEC’s EDD format. Information about NYSDEC’s EDD can be found on their website at http://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/62440.html. One round of extensive reviews is complete and the EDD is available for further review at this time.

The purpose of Vapor Intrusion data collection is to evaluate the presence of volatile chemicals which move from a subsurface source into the indoor air of overlying or adjacent buildings. The subsurface source can be either contaminated groundwater or contaminated soil which releases vapors into the pore spaces in the soil. Vapor Intrusion information and guidance documentation can be found on NYSDEC’s website at http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/2588.html.

The Vapor Intrusion format includes data related to structures and buildings at the sampling site, vapor sampling, sampling methods, field data and the conditions at the time of the sampling events. Test and result information is stored in the Lab sections of the format. Vapor Intrusion sampling includes data about floor materials, slab thickness, sealants, PID readings, heating systems, heating fuel, vacuum gauges and other relevant information.

If you would like to review this EDD, please contact Kristin Garboski at EarthSoft, kristin.garboski@earthsoft.com.

EQuIS demonstration videos for our products are available at EarthSoft’s Community Center and YouTube channel – http://community.earthsoft.com  and www.youtube.com/earthsoft.

EQuIS for ArcGIS & ArcGIS Server Supports ArcGIS 10

June 30, 2010

EarthSoft announced today support for ArcGIS 10 for the EQuIS for ArcGIS extension for ESRI’s ArcMap and ArcScene 3D Analyst applications and ArcGIS Server. In addition to supporting all of the existing EQuIS for ArcGIS features on the ArcGIS 10 platform, the next release of EQuIS (v5.5) will support these new ArcGIS 10-specific features:

ArcGIS 10 Time-Aware Layers

  • The EQuIS EZView LayerBuilder creates time-aware layers – using the new ArcGIS 10 time slider control for creating temporal animations

ArcGIS 10 BaseMap and Templates

  • Support for the new ArcGIS 10 locations for styles and map templates
  • The Springfield tutorial site now includes ArcGIS 10 map template documents using the new basemap layers concept

ArcGIS 10 Metadata
