State of Montana rolls out EQuIS Water Quality Exchange

November 3, 2009

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has rolled out its Montana EQuIS Water Quality Exchange — or MT-eWQX — a central repository for water quality monitoring data.

Montana’s Web page for MT-eWQX provides guidance for submitting water quality data to the database, such as physical, chemical, biological, and habitat data from a variety of projects across the state.

Data submitted to MT-eWQX is submitted to EPA’s National STORET Warehouse, fulfilling the STORET requirement of environmental monitoring projects funded by federal monies, such as 319 grants or 106 funds.

The Critical Role of Data Management, presented by the EPA at the ConSoil 2008 conference, shows EQuIS listed on Slide 8 as one of the common EPA Regional Data Warehouses. Several EPA Regions implement EDD automated workflow with EQuIS.

Data Workflow

EQuIS Data Processor (EDP)™
and Enterprise EDP provide workflow automation for Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) checks and submissions.

EDP is the most widely used EDD checking tool in the world. The EQuIS Intelligent Data Entry Form (IDEF)™ increases the quality assurance of field or laboratory EDDs, letting you input data directly with a tablet PC or PDA.

Plan ahead with EQuIS Sample Planning Module (SPM)™, easily add contracts, methods, and labs, and incorporate a Completeness Report for scheduled analyses.
